Learn to weave a delicate chain maille bracelet with Tierra Cast jump rings and gorgeous etch glass Gekko beads. Patience is necessary, but you’ll leave the class with a mastery of closing small rings. The weave structure is an embellished European 4-1. Kits are available with blue beads or silver beads. Tools are provided for your use during class.

The Masters Talisman Project is a creative introduction to the latest techniques in metal clay, chain maille, mixed media and metalworking taught by masters of the craft. When you sign up, you’ll get to choose three out of the six projects to make. Richard and Rebecca are teaching the Planetary Mobious Pendant. Inspired by the Greek system that described planetary motion for centuries, three smaller Mӧbius rings orbit a central sun Mӧbius all contained within the radiant ring of the cosmos. No previous chain maille experience is required.

All Wound Up features an artfully blended mix of beads in different sizes, colors, and finishes. A clever wire-wrapping technique makes it easy and fun to modify the hole-orientation of beads to make them better suited for kumihimo. This technique will open up a world of possibilities to incorporate any part of a bead stash into future braided projects. You’ll learn how to quickly wire wrap beads to prepare them for braiding and how to incorporate a variety of bead sizes and shapes into beaded kumihimo. Peyote stitch will be demonstrated.

The modular kumihimo concept allows you to get straight to the best part of any braided project – the focal beads in the middle! The Sugar Rush necklace features colorful medley of different bead sizes and shapes in a design that’s playful and fun. A clever hidden front closure allows the focal piece to be swapped out on different back straps to change the look and to coordinate with different outfits. Odds are good that you will finish the focal braid in class. You’ll learn how to incorporate a variety of bead sizes and shapes into beaded kumihimo, how to braid around a core, and how to follow a counted kumihimo chart. Peyote stitch will be demonstrated. Kits will be available in multiple colorways.
