This is a level 2 (Beginner Plus) kumihimo tutorial.

It assumes you have all of these skills:

How to set up the disk for beaded kumihimo
How to lock beads into a basic round braid (kongoh gumi)
How to remove a braid from the disk
How to bind the braid
How to cut the braid
How to glue on an endcap
The PDF tutorial is 2 pages long and includes the stringing chart to make both a 17.5″ and a 22″ necklace.

Supplies Needed to complete the pattern:
12 yards Size 18 S-lon
Beads for your size necklace
8mm magnetic endcaps
Round foam kumihimo disk
1 Big-eye needle
8 Weighted bobbins (~23g each)
1 Gator weight lite (~45g)
E6000
Scissors
Toothpick
Optional: InstaNeedle or Fray Check

Beads Needed for 17 ½” Necklace:
SB Size 8⁰ Toho – 20g (3 tubes)
FPA 3mm Fire Polish Color A – 130 beads (3 strands)
FPB 3mm Fire Polish Color B – 36 beads (1 strand)

Beads Needed for 22” Necklace:
SB Size 8⁰ Toho – 20g (3 tubes)
FPA 3mm Fire Polish Color A – 163 beads (4 strands)
FPB 3mm Fire Polish Color B – 45 beads (1 strand)
