We love TierraCast findings and think you will, too! These parts are all designed and manufactured in Northern California from lead-free pewter and the plating is top notch. We collaborated with the TierraCast design team to bring you this 3-strand magnetic clasp!
This 6mm TierraCast Temple 3-Strand Magnetic Clasp and Endcap Set includes six 6mm Temple endcaps, one 3-strand Temple magnetic clasp, and twelve jump rings. You will need two pairs of jewelry pliers to assemble the set. The length of the assembled set is about 1 7/8". Because the ends of your beaded braids fit inside the endcaps, this set typically adds about 1 5/8" to the finished length of your project.
About the 6mm Temple Endcaps: the inside diameter is 6mm and the outside diameter is 9.5mm at the widest point. The inside diameter of the loop is 2.5mm. This size endcap will fit on an eight-warp braid made with size 11 seed beads.
About the 3-strand Temple magnetic clasp: The pattern is the same on both sides. The length of the two sides clasped together is about 16mm (about 5/8"). The clasp is about 24mm (1") wide. These magnets are quite strong and one can hold, on average, 200g.
About the jump rings: They're 20 gauge with a 4mm inside diameter. They're the perfect size to connect the clasp to the endcaps.
Slight size and weight holding variations are to be expected as part of the manufacturing process.
