Something special happens when two artists work together. When you start with so much skill, vision, and passion the collaboration amplifies the creativity and the results are just... Wow!
Rebecca Ann Combs and Richard Swanborg combined forces to create the dynamic Amplify necklace. A lush and textural piece, the Amplify is an excellent example of a design that seems complicated, but is actually rather straight-forward. The centerpiece of your necklace is an embellished chain that transitions seamlessly to a dramatic, ombré beaded kumihimo braid.
Amplify is a kumihimo kit for all levels. Previous experience with the basic round braid (kongoh gumi) on the foam disk is helpful, but not required. If this is your very first beaded kumihimo project, please review our Beaded Kumihimo Starter Guide before beginning your necklace. As for the embellished chain centerpiece, if you can open & close jump rings, you can do this! Here's a quick demo video.
You’ll need the following tools (not included) to complete the project: foam kumihimo disk (regular 1/2″ thickness), 8 weighted bobbins (~23g each), scissors, and jewelry pliers.
