Concerto features a dramatic textural spiral of Czech teardrops, size 8 seed beads, and double-dropped size 15 seed beads. Spirals are elegant and timeless and what makes Concerto's spiral extra special are the teardrops.
Made by one of the smaller Czech bead makers, these teardrops are not the everyday colors you've seen before. Just take a look and you'll notice right away how rich these colors are. They're intense and demand your attention, but they do so with a glance, not a shout.
Concerto is an intermediate kumihimo project. Previous experience with the basic round braid (kongoh gumi) on the foam disk is recommended. If this is your first time making a braid with a counted pattern, download our free PDF Understanding the Braid Structure and Reading a Counted Pattern. If this is your first beaded kumihimo project, please also review the Beaded Kumihimo Starter Guide before starting your project. Please note that size 15 seed beads are quite small. If you need reading glasses, you'll want them for this project.
