The Fanfare features a hand-knotted tassel pendant, double-strand kumihimo braids, peyote stitch accent bands, and stylish endcaps with coordinating double-strand magnetic clasp.
The Fanfare necklace is a project for the beginner-plus kumihimo braider. Before beginning this project you should know how to drop beads into a kongoh gumi braid (top-right down, bottom-left up) on a foam kumihimo disk. You should also know how to bind off your braid and how to glue on an endcap.
The Fanfare kit includes: detailed step-by-step written instructions, hand-knotted cotton tassel pendant, big-eye needle, nylon braiding cord, size 8 Japanese seed beads, TierraCast endcaps, TierraCast magnetic clasp, and TierraCast jump rings. The kit makes one necklace up to 23″ long.
Techniques used: kumihimo and peyote stitch
You’ll need the following tools (not included) to complete the project: foam kumihimo disk (regular 1/2″ thickness), 8 weighted bobbins (~23g each), clip-on center weight (~45g),scissors, and jewelry pliers.
