You just need a few special tools to get started making beautiful kumihimo jewelry: kumihimo disk, weighted bobbins, and center weight.
The Essential Kumihimo Tool Kit includes: Basic Tool Kit
One 4" kumihimo disk with 1 3/8" (3.5cm) center hole. The foam board disk is 1/2" (~1cm) thick. This is the standard size that you'll use to assemble all of your Design & Adorn kumihimo kits.
Eight weighted bobbins. Weighted bobbins help to control the braid tension and keep thin strings from slipping and sliding across the disk as you work. Each weighted bobbin weighs approximately 23g.
One clip-on center weight. Having downward tension in the braid makes it easier to lock your beads in place. This center weight weighs approximately 45g. The attached alligator clip makes it super easy to clip onto your braid tails and it will stay there securely while you work.
