The Braided Treasures kit includes

- one mixed strand of Czech pressed glass beads
- Soft Flex medium beading wire
- crimp beads
- jump rings
- Aratashi ribbon*
- 1.5mm satin rattail
- TierraCast 6mm endcaps with toggle clasp
*Aratashi ribbon doesn't come in Christmas colors, so the "Merry Christmas" kit comes with two colors of satin rattail instead.
Tools needed to assemble the project (not included)
- foam kumihimo disk
- 8 plain (unweighted) bobbins
- clip-on ~45g center weight (optional)
- scissors
- wire cutter
- Magical crimper for .018" wire
- bead stoppers (optional)
- jewelry pliers
- binding thread
- E6000 glue
Braided Treasures begins with a mixed strand of Czech pressed glass beads in coordinating colors and eclectic shapes and this is where your creativity really gets to shine! Cut apart the strand and start mixing and matching the beads to create a beaded tassel on Soft Flex wire. The exact pattern of the tassel is up to you and every kit colorway has its own unique set of beads!
From the tassel you'll braid a necklace using a "no-knot start" using either a combination of Aratashi ribbon and satin or two colors of satin depending on your kit colorway. You'll finish your necklace with elegant TierraCast endcaps and a matching toggle clasp.
Braided Treasures is a necklace kit for all levels. This is a fantastic introduction to kumihimo and is a great way to get started with this artform with a straightforward fiber braid.
More experienced braiders will find the Braided Treasures a relaxing, quick project.
