Three Wishes illustrates how elegance is found in simplicity. Three beaded braids braided together in a traditional three strand plait. We collaborated with our friends at TierraCast to design the gorgeous 3-strand magnetic clasp that makes this design possible.
Each kit makes one necklace up to 27" long. Three Wishes is a kumihimo kit for beginner braiders. Previous experience with the basic round braid (kongoh gumi) on the foam disk is helpful. If this is your very first beaded kumihimo project, please review our Beaded Kumihimo Starter Guide before beginning your necklace.
Techniques used: kumihimo
The Three Wishes kit includes:
- detailed printed instructions
- big-eye needle
- size 18 Superlon
- size 8 Japanese seed beads
- size 11 Japanese seed beads
- TierraCast 6mm endcaps and jump rings
- TierraCast 3-strand magnetic clasp
You’ll need the following tools (not included) to complete the project:
foam kumihimo disk (regular 1/2″ thickness)
- 8 weighted bobbins (~23g each)
- clip-on center weight (~45g)
- scissors
- jewelry pliers
- binding thread
- E6000 glue
- blue painters' tape
